Mātanga tiaki hauora for people who have experienced sexual or family harm.

Nau mai!  We welcome you to Wāhi Mārie, our safe space for whānau who have been affected by sexual violence or strangulation within the context of family violence. We offer FREE sexual harm support health services.

Who we are

Wāhi Mārie was founded in 2018 and has recently undergone a service expansion.  Along with our new services we have chosen a new name, Wāhi Mārie meaning peaceful place, that more closely reflects our values and the mission of providing a safe and welcome space for all.

We are specialist doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, social work practitioners and along with our supportive kaiāwhina we make up the Wāhi Mārie team that you will interact with at your visit.

Everyone you meet will be experienced in helping people that have experienced sexual harm

We provide FREE confidential support for people that have been affected by sexual violence. If you have been raped or experienced sexual harm (tūkino) anytime in your life, we are here to help you.

We can also provide FREE medical assessments for people who have been strangled or suffocated within the context of family violence.

We provide specialist medical assessments Monday to Friday 9:00am-4:00pm with our team of doctors, nurses, social workers and kaiāwhina, to ensure that you have a safe space for this very important kōrero.
